  • Regional Plan Committee – Awaiting Crown for next step
  • A mechanism to recognise Ngati Pahauwera tino rangatiratanga through day to day involvement in management of Rivers still a focus for negotiators

DoC REDRESS

  • DoC co-management charter – positive negotiations with DoC continue
  • Te Heru O Tureia – still negotiating terms of Te Heru O Tureia transfer and giftback

OVERLAPPING CLAIMS

  • Crown committed to ensuring hapu South of Waikari River represented:
    • Crown leading discussions between Ngati Pahauwera and MTI as to who will represent
    • Crown confirmed will not delay Ngati Pahauwera settlement
  • Discussions with Ngati Hineuru also continuing regarding redress offered South of Waikari

COMMERCIAL ISSUES

  • Right of first Refusal for Crown lands which become surplus – awaiting Crown response to issues raised

HISTORICAL ACCOUNT
