Previous Representatives for Ngati Pahauwera

”Mohaka Harara, taupunga opunga” Haangi stones have their different qualities and purposes. Combined these stones cook the food for the people. Such is the case with the different representative groups of Ngati Pahauwera. They are there to compliment each other for the good of the people not to compete with each other. The picture of the waka is to remind if we row in the same direction we will make some progress.
Representatives have been appointed for Ngati Pahauwera under section 30 of Te Ture Whenua Maori act 1993 to pursue the resolution of our iwi Waitangi tribunal claims. (See section 30 page) Some of the section 30 representatives were elected to represent the Ngati Pahauwera Incorporated Society, others were elected to represent all people with Ngati Pahauwera whakapapa who chose not to affilliate to the Incorporated society. The Ngati Pahauwera Incorporated Society was established to provide leadership in community and social development for all whanau of Ngati Pahauwera. (see Ngati Pahauwera Incorporated society page) Other bodies constituted under Te Ture Whenua Maori act 1993(Maori Land Court Legislation) including: Marae committees, Maori Trustees, Land trustees, and Urupa trustees.
