Manaaaki Committee | Education & Community Grants | OPEN NOW!

Ngāti Pāhauwera Development Trust are pleased to announce, for the fourth consecutive year, that funding for Education & Community grants are now OPEN from the 9th January 2017 to 17th March 2017 for consideration by the Manaaki Committee of the Trust.

The Manaaki Committee has been fortunate enough to provide funding for the previous three years and has been made available to the beneficiaries of Ngāti Pāhauwera to support whānau aspirations in both Secondary (Boarding) & Tertiary Education and providing much needed support to the Community.

The Committee will be expecting a large interest this financial year and would take the opportunity to thank all the applicants in advance for taking an interest in the communities’ development as well as caring for the future of our beneficiaries educational aspirations.

In the 2015/2016 financial year, the committee made distributions to the following categories:

 

Mārae:                                      $85,000.00
Community Groups: $19,489.83
Tertiary: $48,368.51
Secondary: $24,000.00
TOTAL: $176,858.34

Marae:

The following Marae were recipients of a Grant from the Trust in the 2015/2016 funding period, each Marae received $16,350.00 – Raupunga required additional funding for a broken window and resource consent, the Marae received $19,600.00: Mohaka | Raupunga | Putere | Kahungunu | Waihua

Secondary School Grants:

A total of 25 applications were received requesting support for a total of $283,645.90.

The Manaaki Committee was able to provide funding totaling $24,000.00 for the 2015/2016 Grant year to support our rangatahi in their educational aspirations.

Tertiary Grants:

A total of 34 applications were received, requesting support to the total amount of $192,889.00.

The Manaaki Committee was able to provide assistance to the amount of $48,368.51 as a way to assist our adult beneficiaries in higher education aspirations.

Community Grants:

A total of 12 applications were received requesting support for a total of $31,646.27.

Additional distributions were made to community services, which provide support to our beneficiaries, and to keep in line with keeping to the Trust’s charitable status – these distributions totaled $2,000.00 to four community services.

The Manaaki Committee was able to provide funding totaling $33,646.27 for the 2015/2016 Grant year to assist in community development and support services, which in turn support our Pāhauwera beneficiaries.
